Our First Week in Kindergarten!!

What a fabulous first week of Kindergarten! I am so pleased and proud of what great listeners we have this year!

Here are some highlights from our first week:

• We read lots of back-to-school stories, stories about manners and we even created our very own manners book.
• Our School Counselor, Mrs. Browning, and our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Moyes, visited our room on Wednesday.
• We are getting better at our lunch routine and filling our trays with food.
• We sing and dance a lot!
• Mrs. Hudson is our classroom assistant. You will find a picture of her on the profile.

Here are some reminders from our first week:

• Check green Take Home Folders EVERY NIGHT and send it back to school EVERY DAY!!
• Talk to your child about our class rules (Be nice. Be safe. Be a good listener. Follow directions quickly.) and our Playground Rules and see if they know them all!
• If your child wears shoes with laces, please work on helping him or her to tie his or her shoes individually!
• Practice coloring in the lines and using a variety of crayons on a single picture.
• Practice holding scissors correctly and cutting paper on the lines.
• Wear your name tag EVERY day for the next 2 weeks.
